Legos are toys, but they inspire incredible creations. LEGO artists use tiny plastic bricks for everything from robots and architecture. Even the engineers at the company develop business as lego new components that allow builders to build more complex models. Erik Varszegi is a Master Builder at the Lego Group, Billund, Denmark. He designed a new element for this year’s model, the curving slope. It allows Lego users create more slanted shapes while still adhering to the company’s strict color palette. The slopes can be used to create more dynamic shapes, such as an incline staircase.

While some Lego designs are the work of professional designers, others are the result of the well-known Lego Ideas set-design program. The Ideas line lets anyone design a set and it’s possible to make. It offers fame and 1percent of sales to any designer who convinces 10,000 of their peers that their design is worthy to be produced. It’s no surprise that most extravagant and stunning sets are the ones that garner the most support particularly when they have iconic characters or scenes from television shows, films or from real life.

Some of the best Lego designs are two space-age icons which include the NASA spaceship Discovery and one of the Hubble Telescope. Each telescope includes a plaque to display and a miniature Lego version of the original inventor. Other impressive models include the framed rainbow, steampunk dragon as well as a replica of the Palace of Westminster.
